There will never be...

...another you.

Leaving the feet from the volume pedal

Message  Mummenhoff Marc le Dim 31 Oct - 18:40

Hi Jan thx for sharing this video - as always special to me.
Special setup with the 8th pedal - playin' with no metal fingerpicks - just thumb
You are a innovator - Smile
But i honestly think if you wear fingerpicks on all the fingers you could get a much better sound - no effence - your playing style is still very special for me Smile
I sometimes use both feet on my C6 neck - but i try to avoid that if possible.
Loosing the volume pedal for a pedal action is shit anyway.
For the moment i use both feet on the jazz standard Misty (pedal 6 + pedal Cool
That's why many players are use more kneelevers - upraise ed.
My pedalsteel is a standard E9 - C6 (5 pedals and 2 kneelevers on C6)
If you search on youtube for Sez adamson - i believe - he is using constant both feet on the C6 - so who am i to say what is the best.
It's good that you try out many different tunings - once you find it comfortable - use it for a longer period?
In my early years i played a fender 1000 cable model - That was the instrument for try out different tunings- so easy for changing pedals and tuning. I'll try out different tunings - but after a long time i use the standard copendants anyway
I sold the fender many years ago. - damned - LOL
Keep on steelin' Jan
Maybe Someday we will finally meet on a steelmeeting?

Thanks Marc. I just try to get played what I want to hear, in the most natural way.

The reason I don't wear picks is that I feel I'm loosing the direct contact with the strings. I can't get used to them. Playing without, I get the string contact I want + all the dynamics I want to lay in my playing. Also less buzz when my fingers touch the strings.
But I know you're right, my actual sound would improve with picks. Maybe some day...

It's a utility pedal. For special and casual effects. Also, I only have 4 knee levers, and I don't want to give up any change they do.

Is it online already? I'm curious to hear that.

J'aime aussi!!! Amusant la pédale solitaire à droite. Tu pourras en rajouter une à chaque fois que tu progresseras sur ton tuning universel. Merci Jan.
